Pocket shutting down & a podcast highlighter app idea

02:01

I'm really disappointed that Pocket, an app that I used, or have used for a long time, is going to shut down. It's the one place I used to store everything that I liked reading, whether I wanted to read it, articles from Medium, from, you know, blogs, from media agencies, anything that I really wanted to capture and read was stored in my Pocket.

Now, first thing, I need to figure out how I need to translate that, or transfer that to something else, because I do have a treasure trove of articles that I've highlighted and favorited, that I'd like to still keep and refer back to. But, that also made me think about my consumption today, and I do use, I do listen to a lot of podcasts for my information, and most of the time I'm listening to podcasts when, you know, both my hands are engaged, you know, I'm driving, or I'm, you know, washing dishes, or I am, you know, doing some work, or sometimes when I'm just, you know, parallel processing while I work.

And there's times I listen to stuff that I'd like to remember, and there's no real way to highlight something, you know, similar to how you would highlight something in a book with a yellow marker, which looks beautiful. There's no way to highlight a moment in a podcast that you want to remember, and capture a snapshot of that. So, I wonder if that's an app I can build using one of the white coding apps. So, adding that to the list.
